STRAIGHT GATE INTERNATIONAL
CHURCH
EVANGELISM DEPARTMENT
Our mission is to go
forth and preach the Gospel and contribute to the
growth and development of new souls coming into the
Kingdom of God. The Evangelism department currently
oversees three adult prison ministries, aftercare
prison mentoring program, youth ministry; altar
workers ministry; nursing home ministry; and street
outreach team.

|
Street Outreach Team
The street outreach meets three Saturdays per month
at 10:30am. We begin with prayer and intercessory
for the lost. Our primary message is the Gospel
(John 3:16). We minister on the streets sharing the
Gospel and passing out information pertaining to the
Gospel. We also do door to door witnessing in our
neighborhoods. We minister salvation, Baptism of the
Holy Spirit and prayers of deliverance and
restoration.

Prison Ministries
We go into the prisons to carry out God’s great
commission. Our teams generally minister once a
month at any one of the three facilities. The
services are held in the prison chapels. We minister
salvation, Baptism of the Holy Spirit and prayers of
deliverance and restoration during the altar calls.

Aftercare Prison
Mentoring Program
We work with ex-offenders to maintain an on-going
relationship with males and females and their
families. We act as a liaison and coordinator for
community resources along with their case managers
to assist the offender and their families in
fulfillment of their transitional goals.

Youth Detention
Ministry
We minister at Boys & Girls Republic (BGR) every
Sunday morning to youth ages 12 to 18 years of age.
We provide the youth with life-changing practices
through the “Word of God”. By teaching them godly
ways about prayer, praise & worship, the Blood of
Jesus and the Power of the Holy Spirit they can take
this life changing information and apply it to their
daily lives.

Altar Workers Ministry
Altar workers ask converts questions to ensure that
there is clarity concerning salvation, and about the
baptism in the Holy Spirit and special prayer. We
line up with converts to minister the baptism of the
Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands. By giving the
converts a short teaching on the necessity of being
water baptized, we then ask converts if they would
like to be water baptized. Altar Workers then pray
prior to baptism that their hearts be circumcised
and that they walk in the newness of life. After
baptism, the converts are given certificates and a
closing prayer of blessings upon their life.
Converts also receive information on the steps to
become a disciple of Jesus Christ!

Nursing Home Ministry
The Nursing Home Ministry meets twice a month on the
2nd and 4th Saturday for one
hour from 2:30-3:30 p.m. The team members greet each
resident individually with the love of God. The
service is led by prayer and praise & worship. The
Word of God is brought forth; the appeal for
salvation is made followed by any special prayer
request.
